NEW BEDFORD - Tuesday is election day in New Bedford. The day will begin with six candidates for the vacant Ward Three City Council seat, and end with just two.

Election Commissioner Maria Tomasia tells WBSM News it's a simple one-column ballot for voters in Ward Three, and all you have to do is choose one candidate. "If you vote for more than one, it will automatically reject your ballot and ask you to re-cast another ballot or correct it," says Tomasia.

Voting begins at 7 a.m. with the polls closing at 8 p.m. at each of the six precincts in Ward Three.

Tomasia says because of the timing of the special preliminary election, she's only predicting a 12-15% voter turnout.
