New Bedford Voc Tech Wins State Title

For the 3rd straight year, the Greater New Bedford Voc Tech football teams has emerged as the State Vocational Large School Champion after beating Greater Lawrence Voc Tech 26-6 Thursday night at Manning Field in Lynn.

The Bears jumped out to a 14-0 lead and never looked back. Senior running backs Cory Ponte and Trevor Menna each racked up more than 100 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns a piece.

New Bedford Voc also won the turnover battle by recovering 2 fumbles along with an interception. It was the school's 3rd straight year of a 500 record or better.
