New Bedford Vessel In Spotlight During Working Waterfront Festival


The vessel will be featured Thursday night on the History Channel as part of a new reality program called “Nor’easter Men”. Captain Shawn Machie says having a film crew onboard the boat took some getting use to, but he says viewers will see the real thing.

This weekend’s festival also featured lots of maritime related entertainment, seafood cookoffs, and delicious seafood dinners. Lorraine Charest lives in Rochester, but grew up in New Bedford.

The annual Blessing of the Fleet is scheduled for Sunday. This is the ninth year for the Working Waterfront Festival in New Bedford.
