18 new vehicles have been added to New Bedford's Police fleet.

The official unveiling by Mayor Jon Mitchell, Chief David Provencher, and Councilor Brian Gomes took place at Police Headquarters Wednesday afternoon.

Gomes is happy the City has recieved the new Fords, but would like to see the Crown Victorias back in production.

The new vehicles will replace some of the current run down Crown Victorias.

Chief Provencher says the new vehicles are a great addition to the department and the fresh new look is good for the department and the city. Fleet Manager Officer Paul Pires hopes additional vehicles will be added in the near future.
