A 66 year old New Bedford man who was out walking his dog Monday morning in the area of Franklin and Purchase Street was the victim of an un armed robbery. The unidentfied victim  was approached by a man, who identified himself as Joey, who said he was thrown out of his house and was looking for work.

When the victim said he could help him out and reached for his wallet to get a card to write on, the suspect snatched the wallet and made off with an undetermined amount of money and fled on foot toward County street.

The victim was shaken but not harmed.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall with black hair and a black beard.
