NEW BEDFORD — Police attempted to make a motor vehicle stop on a vehicle with a suspended license in the area of Holly Street and Belleville Avenue when the vehicle pulled into a residence on Holly Street.

Subsequent investigation revealed heroin and drug paraphernalia on the passenger's side of the vehicle. An open bottle of beer and five Suboxone strips were also located.

Police arrested Jonathan Campbell, 35, of Carriage Drive, New Bedford, on charges of possession of Class A substance (heroin), possession of an open container of alcohol, trespassing, and possession of Class B substance (Suboxone).

The arrest happened early Friday morning.
