New Bedford To Purchase Two Fire Trucks

The City of New Bedford will be acquiring two new pumpers for the Fire Department to replace two apparatus that are more than 20 years old.

The last fire truck added to the department was five years ago.  Mayor Jon Mitchell announced the plan Thursday, and Fire Chief Michael Gomes is pleased....

The purchase agreement must be approved by the City Council. 

The Mayor is also planning to submit to the Council, a long term capitol plan to upgrade equpment and facilities for all departments that need it.
