The New Bedford teen charged with stabbing a bus driver Wednesday afternoon at Dunbar & Hemlock Streets appeared in court yesterday.

19 year old Aaron Maldonado of Rivet Street appeared before Judge Kevin Finnerty Thursday facing armed assault with intent to commit murder, mayhem, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle charges.

The judge ordered him held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on January 17th. The D A's office is also seeking to revoke his bail at that time on three current cases in district court.

The driver of the van, identified as Paul Medeiros of Dartmouth,  suffered cuts to his nose and the back of his head and was treated with about 40 stitches to the front and back of his head at Rhode Island Hospital  and released Wednesday night.
