New Bedford Teachers Welcomed By Local Community Organizations
The Buttonwood Park Zoo was filled with more than just animals Tuesday evening.
The Friends for Educational Excellence hosted a “meet & greet” event to welcome the school district’s new teachers and administrators.
Many of the new teachers have experience in similar urban school districts, including Michelle Carney. She will be teaching at Parker Elementary School and looks forward to being a part of it’s new turnaround plan.
The event was put together by local community organizations to show their support for the school system.
Both the High School and Parker School are undergoing turnaround plans while a number of level three schools face the threat of a turnaround.
A similar event will be held later in the school year for all teachers and administrators to take part in.
