New Bedford teachers may soon have a new three year contract.  Members of the New Bedford Educators Association will vote Tuesday afternoon on a new contract .  The ratification meeting is set for 3:30 at Keith Middle School.  Teachers Union President Lou St. John tells WBSM News neogotiations between the city and the union began in 2010.  He declined to release details of the proposal, but did say the union's negotiation team and its executive board are recommending the deal to the rank and file.

The N-B-E-A represents just over 1,000 teachers.  If the teachers approve the contract, its expected the School Committee will ratify the package at 7 Tuesday night, when they meet at Keith.
