Winter Storm Stella has come and gone with very little impact on the Southcoast, except in the wallets of those who chose not to comply with New Bedford's parking ban.

The ban was lifted at 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, but not before New Bedford Police towed 11 cars from city streets.

Police tell WBSM News they issued 366 parking tickets, each carrying a $50 penalty for failing to comply with the ban. That means this storm alone generated just over $18,000 in fines, with New Bedford topping the $100,000 mark in parking ban fines already this year.

Police issued more than 500 tickets during a January storm, 516 during the February blizzard and 619 tickets in last Friday's storm.
