New Bedford Superintendent Dr. Pia Durkin is defending her administration after comments regarding student behavioral issues in public schools.

Speaking on WBSM's "Barry Richard Show," Durkin responded to allegations of secrecy in regards to violence in the schools. "There is no cover-up at all in my administration," said Durkin. "In fact, I think that this administration has been more public than any other administration that New Bedford has had."

In March, Mayor Jon Mitchell formed an Ad-Hoc Committe on School Climate to investigate claims of discipline issues in New Bedford schools. Durkin says the Ad-Hoc Committee's findings and recommendations will be presented before the School Committee at Monday night's meeting.
