New Bedford School Committee Member Reacts To Clark’s Resignation

The New Bedford School Committee will be one member short at their next meeting. School Committeeman Tom Clark submitted his resignation Friday morning to Superintendent Mike Shea as well as to the City Clerk. The resignation takes effect Saturday. Clark has been recently appointed to serve as the Massachusett’s Army National Guard’s Counter Drug Co- ordinator which is a position that requires him to be called to active duty. Fellow Committee member Dr. John Fetcher tells WBSM News, Clark will be missed.

Clark was first elected to the School Committee in 2007. In August of 2010 Clark was deployed to Afghanistan for about a year and took a leave of absence from the committee at that time. According to Dr. Fletcher, a new School Committee member.
