New Bedford Scam Claims Raising Money For Charity

New Bedford Police say a woman is scamming residents out of money by pretending to raise money for a charity.

Police allege that Tyane Lopes is going to homes and businesses to solicit money on behalf of area schools, sports teams and charities but keeps the money for herself.

Residents and business owners should contact Police if they suspect they've been taken advantage of by Ms. Lopes.
