Neither side is budging when it comes to an apparent stand-off between the City of New Bedford and KG Urban Enterprises.

KG Urban representatives are urging Mayor Jon Mitchell to endorse their proposal for a casino at the Canon Street Power Station.

The City's gaming attorney, Jonathan Silverstein, sent a letter in response to the demand, saying KG Urban needs to provide funds for consultants to review their proposal in depth.

The letter was sent Friday to KG Urban's legal counsel, and also points out the company's unwillingness to consider other locations for their proposal.

Silverstein says the City won't consider entering host community agreement negotiations until an independent impact study of KG's proposal is complete.
