New Bedford Police To Receive Grant
The City of New Bedford is getting nearly $100,000 from the Federal Government. The Justice Assistance Grant of $99,178 was announced by Congressman William Keating, (D)-Massachusetts.
The money will be used to pay for overtime in the New Bedford Police Department and the purchase of new equipment. Keating says the funding will help the Police Department deliver vital services to the community and he's grateful for the work police officers do to keep our communities safe.
Mayor Jon Mitchell says the funding will be used to pay for targeted patrols and investigations, as well as equipment upgrades.
