New Bedford Police Stop Robbery At Saver’s

New Bedford Police

New Bedford police foiled an attempted robbery at the Saver’s Store on the King’s Highway Monday Night.

They found a white Ford Van parked near the closed building and a man in the fenced in area by the loading dock. When the man was approached by police, he fled on foot and was tackled to the ground. Police found several TV’s and a computor monitor that was stolen from the store.

The suspect, identified as 44 year old Julio Teizeira of Willow Street in New Bedford, was taken into custody and charged with breaking and entering in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony. He was arraigned in Third District  Court.
