New Bedford Police Probe Armed Robbery Attempt

NEW BEDFORD — Police are investigating a report of an attempted armed robbery in the city.

Police received a report from an individual at about 5:14 p.m. on Tuesday that a suspect had approached them in the 400-block of Cottage Street and pulled out what appeared to be a firearm. The victim told police that the suspect quickly fled on foot in the apparent attempted armed robbery.

No injuries were reported.
