Sunday was a busy day for robberies in New Bedford. Police are investigating 3 seperate incidents.

At 6am, a 70-year-old male cab driver was robbed in the parking lot of Buttonwood Park on Hawthorne Street. He had picked up 4 fares at UMass Dartmouth and once in the parking lot, the driver was put in a headlock and had a knife put to his throat. The four escaped on foot towards Court St. with an undetermined amount of cash. They were described as three black males and one white male, all in their 20s.

At 6:30 Sunday morning, a homeless couple was robbed behind the former Shaw's Supermarket on Cove Rd. The couple was approached by by 2 males who attempted to steal the woman's purse. No money was taken but the woman suffered a small cut to her hand. The purse was recovered at the scene and police arrested two individuals,19-year-old Iseies Costa of Cleveland Street and 21-year-old Cadete Antunes (pictured above) of Ashley St in New Bedford. Both are being arrainged on assault & robbery charges.

In a third incident Sunday night, a 38-year-old Chinese food delivery driver was robbed on David Street of cash and Chinese food. The two male suspects were dressed in black and wearing black skeleton masks. They were last seen fleeing east on David Street.
