NEW BEDFORD — Officers were called to the 200-block of Nash Road early Wednesday morning on a report of shots fired.

Police also received a report that a nearby car had its windshield damaged, and also had gasoline poured on the vehicle in an attempt to set it on fire.

Detectives are investigating. The suspect has not been named.

Charges include carrying a loaded weapon without a license, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, malicious damage to a motor vehicle, and attempted arson.

Police say no one was injured. They were called to the scene just after midnight on Wednesday.
