New Bedford Police are investigating after two robberies occurred on Wednesday.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the first incident took place around 10:40 a.m. at the Royal 7 Food and Deli at 606 Summer Street.

Vicente says two men dressed in black gloves, black hoods, and black masks stole cigarettes and cash before fleeing.

The second robbery took place around 12:45 p.m. At the Metro PCS at 1859 Acushnet Avenue.

Vicente says a man asked about cellphones before taking out a small knife and robbing the clerk.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a grey puffy vest, a red/orange sweatshirt, and a ski mask.
