New Bedford Police Investigate Possible Armed Robbery

NEW BEDFORD — Police were called to Hathaway Street on Monday evening on the report that a man was robbed.

The victim told officers that he was attempting to sell an item to persons he knew.  He said they took the item and handed him counterfeit money in exchange.  The victim also reported that he was struck with an item that appeared to be a firearm.

New Bedford police say there were no injuries and they are continuing their investigation.
