New Bedford Police Investigate Gunshot Detection on Hathaway Street

New Bedford's ShotSpotter system detected a single gunshot in the North End Friday morning.

Police say the shot came from the 70-block of Hathaway Street just after 5:30am Friday morning.

Responding officers found no evidence of a shot being fired. They were not able to locate any shell casings or property damage.

Neighbors reported hearing a loud pop accompanied by a flash of light.

Police continue to investigate.
