New Bedford Police Investigate Gunfire in North End Thursday

Several 9-1-1 calls Thursday morning after witnesses reported hearing gunshots in the near-North End.

Detective Captain Steve Vicente says officers responded to the area of Hathaway and North Front Streets around 4am Thursday morning, and found three shell casings, but no property damage.

One witness reported seeing two males leaving the area on bicycles after the shots were fired.

Police continue to investigate.
