New Bedford Police Called to South End Bar

NEW BEDFORD — Police are investigating an incident at a south end bar.

Officers were called to South Side Annie's, 114 Cove Street, just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, after an attempted assault on the bartender.

Police say that a customer at the bar threw a glass at the bartender after they were refused service. The bartender was not hit.

The suspect fled when the bartender threatened to call police.
