New Bedford Police Arrest Seven on Drug Charges in North End
NEW BEDFORD—Members of the New Bedford Police Narcotics Unit targeted street level drug activity in the city's North End Saturday afternoon. As a result, seven males were arrested and charged as followed:
Carlos Carreiro, 33, of 383 No. Front Street
--Possession of class A heroin
--Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
Blain Arruda, 32, of 601 Coggeshall Street, Apt. 3
--Distribution of class A heroin
--Distribution of class A heroin subsequent offense (6/2012)
--Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
Chad Rebelo, 30, of 289 Earle Street
--Possession with intent to distribute class A heroin
--Possession with intent to distribute class A heroin subsequent offense (6/2016)
--Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
Douglas Richards, 52, of 1168 Acushnet Ave
--Distribution class A heroin
--Distribution class A heroin subsequent offense (6/2012)
--Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
Kyle Gilmete, 35, of 523 No. Front Street
--Possession of class A heroin
--Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
Jonathan Carver, 36, of 124 Hathawat Street, Apt. 2
--Distribution of class A heroin
--Distribution of class A heroin subsequent offense (9/2014)
--Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
--Warrant
Sean Ribeiro, 24, of 121 Hathaway Street, Apt. 1
--Distribution of class A heroin
--Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
The seven suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Monday at 3rd District Court.
