NEW BEDFORD — The New Bedford Police Narcotics Unit made an arrest and took more than 100 grams of marijuana off the street Thursday, as part of an investigation into street-level narcotics sales in the city's North End.

Police observed an individual in a vehicle on Davis Street in suspected narcotics activity. Further investigation found more than 100 grams of marijuana, packaging materials, a digital scale and more than $1,000 in the possession of the individual.

Tyler Aviles, 21, of 150 Purchase Street, Apartment 11A in Fall River, was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
