NEW BEDFORD - New Bedford Police Narcotics and gang unit arrested 27 individuals in the last two days as the continuing effort to target narcotics sales and other criminal activity in our neighborhoods.

On Tuesday the 15th, 16 people were arrested throughout the day. Detectives arrested and charged the following:

  • James Macomber, 50, of 251 Green St., Fairhaven
    • Possession of class B cocaine
    • Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
  • David Lugo, Sr., 36, of 1107 Harrison Ave, Apt.1, Boston
    • Possession of class B cocaine
    • Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
  • Paula Little, 40, of 22.5 Old Colony Ave, Taunton
    • Possession of class B cocaine
    • Conspiracy to violate controlled substance laws
    • Warrant arrest
  • Eric Victoria, 26, of 531 No. Front St., New Bedford
    • Warrant arrest
  • Robert Nelson, Jr., 27, of 204 Sawyer St., New Bedford
    • Warrant arrest
  • Michael Mendoza, 23, of 504 S. Second St., New Bedford
    • Warrant arrest
  • Edward Oldfield, 43, of 71 Division St., New Bedford

Detectives also executed a search warrant at 193 Elm St., Apt.15, on the same day at approximately 6:45 p.m. As a result of the search, detectives seized a small amount of Percocet pills, packaging materials, digital scales, three rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, and a small amount of cash. Arrested and charged as result of the search warrant were:

  • Francisco Marrero, 37, of 193 Elm St., Apt 15, New Bedford
    • Unlawful possession of ammunition
  • Nicholas Mills, 36, of 193 Elm St., Apt 15, New Bedford
    • Unlawful possession of ammunition
    • Possession of class B Percocet
  • Keith Gibau, 26, of 1520 Purchase St., New Bedford
    • Unlawful possession of ammunition

On Wednesday the 16th, 11 people were arrested throughout the day. Detectives arrested and charged the following:

  • William Callaghan, 54, of 76 Grant St., New Bedford
    • Warrant arrest
  • Ronald Zahara, 34, of 16 Woodlawn St., New Bedford
    • Warrant arrest
  • John Moniz, 46, of 113 Division St., New Bedford
    • Consuming/carrying alcoholic beverage on public way
  • Robert Boutin, 26, of 358 Bream St., New Bedford
    • Possession of class B cocaine
    • Carrying of certain weapons on a person
  • Scott Correia, 51, of 43 Willis St., New Bedford
    • Possession of class B cocaine
