It's become a weekly occurrence in New Bedford --- mosquito spraying.

Once again, the Bristol County Mosquito Control Project will conduct another round of ground spraying around New Bedford's parks. The spraying will take place Thursday morning between 2am and sunrise at area parks including Buttonwood, Brooklawn, Fort Taber, Hazelwood, Riverside, Clasky, Ashley, the Poor Farm area, and Madeira Avenue.

Residents living in those areas may wish to close their windows Wednesday night before spraying.

The Bristol County Mosquito Control Project is continually monitoring mosquito traps in the Greater New Bedford area, tracking the potential for mosquitoes carrying Eastern Equine Encephalitis and West Nile Virus.

Residents can request a ground spray by calling the BCMCP at 508-823-5253 between 8am and 2pm, or email them at RequestBristolMCP@comcast.net.
