New Bedford Murder Suspect Arraigned

33 year old Jeremy Amaral of New Bedford is being held behind bars following his arraignment on a murder charge. 

Amaral appeared Thursday in Fall River Superior Court, and pleaded not guilty to the murder of Tiffany Ann Durfee earlier this year. 

Police say Amaral killed the woman with quote "a sharp instrument" on March 13th  in her North Street apartment, then stole her large screen t-v for money to buy drugs. 

The victim's body was found by her mother. 

In addition to murder, Amaral is also charged with armed robbery and witness intimidation.  The case was continued to August 26th.
