New Bedford Mayor Mitchell Weighs In On Clark Resignation

New Bedford School Committee member Thomas Clark has resigned his seat on the school board, effective Saturday. Clark is accepting a new job with the Mass. Army National Guard that will require him to return to active duty. Clark's resignation has been rumored for several weeks, and its no secret that he and Mayor Jon Mitchell didn't agree on some of the changes being talked about for New Bedford Schools.

Mitchell says Clark's replacement will be selected at a joint meeting of the School Committee and City Council on a date yet to be chosen.
