NEW BEDFORD — A city man is arrested after police find him slouched in his vehicle and with heroin in his possession.

At around 5:19 p.m. Tuesday, New Bedford Police received a report of a male slouched in his vehicle in the rear parking lot behind Giammalvo's Market at 1914 Purchase Street. The report indicated the male had been in that position for about an hour.

When police arrived, they found 21-year-old Kyle Patrick Curran of 371 Cedar Street in New Bedford still in the vehicle. He appeared to be impaired, so police placed him in protective custody. When doing so, they discovered two grams of heroin in his possession.

Curran was arrested and charged with possession of a Class A substance.
