New Bedford Man Facing Gun, Drug Charges
A New Bedford man is facing drug and weapons charges after a search warrant was executed Tuesday night.
Detective Captain Steven Vicente says that members of the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau executed a search warrant at 7 Hazard Court around 6:30 p.m.
The warrant was executed as a result of an investigation into a drug distribution service that was allegedly being operated out of the home.
Vicente says the target of the investigation, identified as 23-year-old Reginald Sadm, was arrested without incident as he drove away from his residence.
As a result of the search officers seized a half pound of marijuana, a Kel-Tec .380 semi-automatic handgun loaded with 6 rounds of ammunition, A Bryco Arms .380 semi-automatic handgun loaded with 5 rounds of ammunition, digital scales, packaging materials, and $8,645 in cash.
Vicente says Sadm doesn't possess a license to carry firearms.
Sadm was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in New Bedford District Court.
