New Bedford man is facing drug and weapons charges after a search warrant was executed Friday night.

Lt. Amos Melo says detectives from the Organized Crime Intelligence Bureau executed a search warrant at 86 Mosher St. 3rd fl.

During the search detectives discovered three handguns; a 9mm revolver loaded with four rounds of ammo, a .22 caliber revolver, and a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun loaded with five rounds of ammo and having defaced serial numbers.

In addition, detectives also located six additional rounds of 9mm ammo, 2.2 grams of heroin, a small amount of cocaine, and $245.00 in cash.

The target of the investigation, identified as 25-year-old Joe Martinez, was charged with three counts of possession of a fire arm without a license, three counts of unlawful possession of ammunition, one count of fire arm with defaced serial number, three counts of improper storage of a fire arm, one count of possession w/int to distribute class A heroin, and one count of possession class B cocaine.
