NEW BEDFORD — An erratic driver leads to an OUI arrest in New Bedford.

New Bedford Police say a vehicle was observed driving in the area of Union and Orchard Streets just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday. Further investigation revealed the driver was under the influence of narcotics. His license had been revoked and police say he was acting belligerently in the course of the investigation.

Police arrested 40-year-old Nasir Alves of Shawmut Avenue in New Bedford, charging him with operating under the influence of drugs, operation with a revoked license, marked lanes violation and disorderly conduct.
