New Bedford Man Arrested for Armed Robbery

A New Bedford man is arrested in connection with a robbery last weekend.

Police say 41-year-old Norman Silva was arrested by detectives Friday morning after they received a tip he was in the old Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Silva is charged with robbing the Lucky 7 Mini Mart on Cottage Street Sunday night. Silva is charged with armed robbery while masked, armed robbery with a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, and confining or putting a person in fear for stealing.

He'll be arraigned in New Bedford District Court.
