DARTMOUTH — On Sunday, August 13, 2017 at approximately 6:20 p.m., Dartmouth Police responded to D’Angelo’s Sandwich Shop, located at 546 Dartmouth Street, regarding a fight in progress.

Upon speaking with the victim, a 29-year-old Dartmouth man, it was learned that he had been jumped by several males, and then beat with a police-style baton. The victim also reported that the males attempted to take his gold necklace, and had brandished a firearm. Prior to fleeing the area, the suspects also damaged the victim’s vehicle.

The victim was evaluated for his injuries, and refused further medical attention at the scene.

As of this release, neither the aforementioned baton nor firearm has been recovered.

Andrade was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (baton), malicious damage to a motor vehicle, armed assault to rob (firearm), and assault and battery.
