Nearly $7,000 worth of drugs are off the streets and a New Bedford man is arrested after police raid his apartment.

New Bedford Police say a search warrant was executed at the Independent Street home of 24-year-old Manoel Debrito-Lopez Wednesday night, with police finding 36 grams of cocaine and 32 grams of fentanyl, along with packaging materials and a scale.

Debrito-Lopez is charged with trafficking in fentanyl over 18 grams and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, subsequent offense. He was previously convicted in 2010 of possession of a Class B substance with intent to distribute.

Debrito-Lopez is being arraigned today in New Bedford District Court.
