New Bedford Man Arrested For Convenience Store Robbery

A New Bedford man is facing a charge of armed robbery in connection with a January 18th knifepoint robbery of an Acushnet Avenue convenience store.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says 39-year-old Manuel Rebelo Jr. was taken into custody at his Earle Street apartment Friday morning.

Rebelo is accused of robbing Joe's Convenience Store at at 1890 Acushnet Ave and fleeing with an undetermined amount of cash.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in New Bedford District Court.
