Members of the Homeless Service Providers Network will be hitting the streets on Wednesday, to count the number of homeless in New Bedford. 

The count is required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Spokesman Pat Sullivan says more than 60 volunteers will do the counting....

Sullivan says people living both inside and outside shelters will be counted over a 24 hour period.  Last year, 338 homeless people were counted in New Bedford.
