New Bedford Gets “Yarn-Bombed”
You think you've seen it all in New Bedford, but local art lovers have created something new. The water fountain in front of the 54th Regiment Monument on William Street has been completely covered in colorful yarn. It's an internet inspired trend known as yarn-bombing, and Mayor Jon Mitchell has taken a liking to it.
Young Abby has done some knitting, herself, and appreciates the display.
The yarn-bomb is a collaboration between students at UMass Dartmouth, the Devalles Elementary School, and Artworks! to promote AHA Night and fiber art.
