New Bedford Police's Gang Unit arrested a city man Monday afternoon after he allegedly pointed a firearm at another person.

Police stopped 24 year old Andrew Booker of Irvington Street at West Rodney French Blvd and Davis Street. Police found 16 bags of crack cocaine on him along with a loaded semi automatic handgun in his waistband. They determined he did not have a license to carry firearms and also had an outstanding warrant for assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon out of Brockton.

Locally, he was charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, and carrying a loaded and unlicensed firearm. He faces those charges in district court.
