The City's top election official is hoping for a good voter turnout Tuesday, but doesn't know what to expect.

Election Commissioner Maria Tomasia says this election season has been decidedly slow. Tomasia says she would like to have seen more lively debates with more contentious issues. "You know, it brings people to think, to get some emotion, to get some need to actually get involved. And I have not seen much of that in this election, to be honest with you," said Tomasia.

Tomasia says she hopes to see anywhere between a 20-25% voter turnout, but doesn't have an exact prediction.

New Bedford's polling locations are open Tuesday from 7am to 8pm.
