One week after Attorney Tom Clark resigned his post on the School Committee, four candidates have already made their desire for his seat known to the City Council. Thursday the Council read two applications into the record, and two more have been submitted. A joint meeting of the Council and School Committee will review the applicants and select a replacement to serve the three-plus years remaining on Clark's term. City Council President Steven Martins says applicants should submit their resumes to the City Clerk for consideration.

The candidates include the New Bedford Housing Authority's Bruce Oliviera and Maria Mojica, former School Committee member Nancy Feeney, and former candidate Dr. Guillermo Gonzalez. Councilor Martins says his office will be taking applicants until a meeting date is set.
