New Bedford City Clerk’s Job Re-Posted

The City of New Bedford is re-posting the job of City Clerk on its website.

City Council President Joseph Lopes was referring to former Councilor Denis Lawrence who was considered a front-runner for the job, but withdrew his application without explanation on Monday.

Lopes tells WBSM News, the applications of 38 other people who applied for the job are still valid and will be considered. The new deadline for submitting applications is June 30th.

Lopes says the council will like select a new Clerk at its July 17th meeting.
