New Bedford Catches Glimpse of Unclaimed Property Auction Items

The Massachusetts State Treasury is showcasing a number of items going up for auction this weekend.
Some of those items made their way to New Bedford today, in advance of the Unclaimed Property State Auction on Ebay.
James Roy, Tangible Property Manager with the Treasury tells WBSM News all of the items up for bid come from forfeited safe deposit boxes.

Roy says the auction will last into December, with new items being posted on Ebay every few weeks.
Some of the collectibles showcased in New Bedford included a Tiffany tea set, an 18th century brandy warmer, and rare bills and coins.
Dale Ferguson came down to the New Bedford office of the State Lottery to view the items. He says he saw several items that peaked his interest, and he’s eager to bid.

The hundreds of items have been appraised at $420,000. The first round of bidding starts this Saturday, October 20th at noon.
