New Bedford Cab Robbery

An unidentified 46 year old New Bedford cab driver was the victim of an overnight robbery and stabbing in the north end. New Bedford Police Detective Capt. Steve Vicente says the driver was stopped by two men at Sawyer and Mitchell streets, was pulled out of his cab, stabbed in the leg and robbed. The two suspects fled with an undeterminbed amount of money on Sawyer Street. The driver was treated and released at St. Luke’s Hospital. The suspects are described as a 20 year old black male about 5-10 and an hispanic male in his 20′s about 5-7 and husky. Anyone with information is asked to call New Bedford Police at 508-991-6300 ext 320.
