New Bedford Police are investigating an early morning cab robbery on Friday. According to Detective Capt. Steve Vicente,  a city cab driver was robbed at knifepoint around 1:40 am . The 22 year old victim picked up the fare at the bus terminal and took him to the area of North and Foster streets where the suspect pulled out a knife, placed it at the drivers neck and demanded money.

The suspect, who escaped with an undetermined amount of cash, is described as a thin black male, with short hair and a thin beard and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. There were no injuries in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call New Bedford Police's Detective Division at 508-991-6300 ext 320.
