There was another convenience store robbery in New Bedford early Tuesday morning. Police responded to a robbery call at the 7-11 at 1499 Acushnet ave. The 31 year old female clerk told police that a man entered the store with his hands in his pockets and said he had a gun.

He demanded money from the register and after recieving the cash, fled on foot south on Acushnet Ave. Police viewed surveillance video of the robbery and broadcast the description of the suspect.

A short time later, Police spotted a man fitting the description of the suspect at Nye and North Front Streets and brought him back to the store where he was indentified by the clerk.

He initially gave police a  false name but his true identity was discovered during the booking process. He is identified as 51 year old Anthony Stefanski of North Front Street in New Bedford. He faced charges of Armed Robbery and furnishing a fale name to police.
