New Bedford Accident Leads to Several Charges

NEW BEDFORD — Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at Pleasant Street and Pope Street. Witnesses reported that one of the drivers fled the scene and when a vehicle drove into her path to stop her, she struck the vehicle.

Upon further investigation, police determined the driver was intoxicated.

Carmen Ordonez, 29, of 1181 Pleasant St., New Bedford, was charged with OUI liquor, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

The arrest was made at 9:33 p.m. Tuesday, July 31.
